Beyond Impact Advisors is a Swiss-based advisory firm specializing in investments which resolve the problem of the use of animals for food, materials, clothing, ingredients, animal testing, among others, by providing humane, sustainable, and economically-viable alternatives. Led by Claire Smith, a 37-year veteran of the finance industry, the team incorporates specialists in venture capital, impact investment, food production and consumer brands and company mentoring. Beyond Impact provides institutional programs, angel investment programs and co- investments managed to the common theme of removing animal exploitation from the economy.

Beyond Impact Advisors was formed in October 2017 with the aim of accelerating the growth of an animal-free economy by investing in credible animal alternatives that are superior, scalable and sustainable and can therefore have the greatest impact on the use of animals in human society.

In March 2018 Beyond Impact Advisors launched its first venture investment vehicle, Beyond Impact Vegan Partners which made 23 investments in the areas of plant-based foods, cultivated meats, fermentation-enabled products, and other alternatives to meat, seafood, dairy and eggs, leather and other animal-derived materials and ingredients.

It set up a co-investment program in 2021 and went on to launch its second fund, Beyond Impact SICAV RAIF - Vegan 1 in 2022 with seed capital of €25M, During 2022 it has made 8 further investments in plant-based meat and fish, novel ingredients and a chef-curated range of vegan ready meals and grocery products.

Beyond Impact Advisors is part of the Beyond Investing vegan investment platform, the brainchild of Claire Smith, who also runs Beyond Advisors, which promotes the development of investment products for the masses. Through investment research into public companies it has built portfolios that use ethical screening and proactive tilts to satisfy the values of the vegan community and indeed all investors that care about animals and the environment.

In May 2018 Beyond Advisors launched the US Vegan Climate Index (ticker VEGAN), a broad-based portfolio of US domestic companies that imposes vegan, climate, environmental and human rights screens.

Beyond Advisors US subsidiary Beyond Investing sponsored the creation of the first ever vegan-friendly and climate-conscious US-listed Exchange Traded Fund, the US Vegan Climate ETF (ticker: VEGN), which was listed on the New York Stock Exchange in September 2019. It has since gone on to create Europe and Global versions of the Vegan Climate Index and the Vegan World Index, available as a Swiss-listed Certificate, which provides exposure to a targeted portfolio of companies in food, materials, clothing, consumer products and agriculture which are relevant to the vegan trend.
