Mike Appleby joined Liontrust in April 2017 as part of the company’s acquisition of Alliance Trust Investments (ATI), where he had been part of the Sustainable Investment team for five years. Mike’s investment career started at Lehman Brothers in 1992. In 2004, after a break from investment, he moved to Aviva Investors to work on the Sustainable Future team as an analyst, before progressing to Fund Manager and then Head of SRI thematic research. Mike focuses on analysing and picking stocks in energy and utilities. Mike has an MSc in Environmental Management from Imperial College, and a BSc in biological sciences with (Hons) in Zoology from the University of Edinburgh.
